Our Heartfelt Projects

What Bad Heilbrunner Cares About

A healthy nature is the foundation for the high quality of our teas and natural remedies. Keeping the corporate carbon footprint of Bad Heilbrunner as low as possible motivates us to make many small changes in our everyday work.

With beehives and flower meadows at our location, we are naturally committed to preserving the biodiversity and species diversity around us.

But we want to do even more, and we are also committed beyond the foothills of the Alps to environmentally friendly cultivation and fair production of our mate teas in South America.

At the same time, we don’t forget our roots: Bad Heilbrunner is closely connected to the Benediktbeuren Abbey, the town of Bad Heilbrunn, and the people of the region. With our regional and social engagement, we want to share the success with the community.

Our Sense of Nature

We work in the beautiful foothills of the Alps and feel a strong connection to nature. Therefore, we have set up birdhouses and beehives on our company premises, which are managed by a local organic beekeeping operation. A part of the site will also soon feature a flower meadow.

Ilex Mate

With this project, Bad Heilbrunner is committed to the sustainable cultivation of mate in the Paraná region on the east coast of Brazil. Here, the rainforest still exists in large, connected areas, showcasing its full ecological diversity. To ensure this continues, it is essential to support local agriculture. The project team introduces family-owned farms to new farming methods to increase yields. A farm management plan promotes economic operation on the farms – ensuring that the next generation will also have a future with mate.

Organic Certification

A part of our teas is certified organic. This can be recognized by the EU Organic logo. It guarantees compliance with the strict criteria of the EU Organic Regulation and is valid across Europe. Even teas from conventional farming must meet uniform and very high quality standards. The advantage of organic-certified teas lies primarily in the sustainable cultivation and processing methods, as well as the use of exclusively natural pest control methods. Tea production is based on the principles of organic farming, which uses environmentally friendly methods and strives for a closed natural cycle. Compliance with EU regulations is regularly verified through inspections.
